Benefits of Home Sustainability Assessments
  • Free
  • Reduce water and electricity bills
  • Reduce green house gas emissions
  • Personalised action plan
  • Access to Home Sustainability Program Detailed report
About Free Home Sustainability Assessments

Through the Australian Governments Home Sustainability Program, you can access a free, comprehensive Home Sustainability Assessment to reduce your energy and water bills, increase the comfort of your home and help reduce damaging carbon pollution.

The assessment will be performed by a government accredited assessor and involve an on site inspection of your home and major household appliances.

The information gathered will be detailed in an Assessment Report. This report is your personalised action plan, and shows where the greatest opportunities for improvements are.

Free

This is 100% financed by the Australian Government, there is absolutely no cost to you and you are under no obligation to carry out all or any of the recommendations in the report.

Reduce water and electricity bills

The assessment looks at water efficiency, heating, lighting, refrigeration, cooking, entertainment and waste management. The report will itemise improvements and your potential savings per year.

Reduce green house gas emissions

Changes you can make are detailed in the report as well as the expected saving of green house gas emissions that will reduce your impact on the environment.

Personalised action plan

The report lists your current usage and the estimated savings to you that each of the recommendations could achieve.

Detailed report

The report shows a breakdown of your homes current performance for greenhouse gas emissions, water and energy use, how that compares to the state average and the potential you have for savings. It will provide advice from the smallest behavior change to major investments such as a solar, gas or energy efficient hot water system or solar panels to sell green power into the grid.

How long does it take?

The length of the inspection depends on the amount of information readily available, the size of the property and the number of energy and water systems to be considered. Most will take around two hours to complete then a final report will be sent out to you.
